Preparing For A Spray Tan
Preparing for a spray tan is important to ensure that it will apply and dry correctly and wear well for the next 5-10 days
Pre-Care
- Exfoliate the night before your tan
- Shave or wax 24-48 hours before your tan (after your tan this could cause tan removal)
- Do not apply any creams or body oils on the day of your tan as this can create a barrier
- I would wear either an old bikini or old underwear whilst having your tan. I do have disposable underwear if you would prefer but I would advise against wearing your best.
Aftercare
- Your tan will take around 8 hours to develop – so do not shower until then.
- When showering just use water and pat your body dry
- Apply moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated

Will I smell after my tan like other brands?
Exposed is designed to carry no odour so you won’t smell of biscuits
How often can I have a tan?
Your tan will last up to ten days, as with each bath/shower the pigment is being diluted. I would advise that a fresh tan is only applied when the previous tan is completely removed. Exfoliation will help with this or using Exposed Tan Eraser
If I want my tan for a special occasion when should I have it?
Your tan will take 8 hours to fully develop so either one or two days before your event will ensure it looks fabulous

Can this treatment be performed while I have my contact lenses in?
No. we would advise you to remove your contacts while the treatment is taking place.

What do I need to do before I get waxed?
I would advise that you shower and exfoliate the area you want waxing 24hours before your treatment. This will ensure that all hairs in that area are exposed to ensure a smooth finish.
Are in-growing hairs normal?
Yes. Depending on the area in-growing hairs are quite normal, usually caused by restrictive clothing which is rubbing the skin causing the hair to become trapped. If you suffer with In-Growing hair we do have a retail product which will help (In-Growing Hair Serum)
I think I want intimate waxing but I’m confused by all the names
When you call to make your appointment state that it is for an intimate wax treatment (not just bikini line). We will book out enough time to have a full consultation to discuss style and finish.
How often should I need waxing?
Every 4-6 weeks. Depending on your own personal hair growth cycle you may be able to go longer between appointments but remember waxing should be carried out all year round to ensure you benefit from the reduced hair growth.

- Aloe Vera (bioactive) – soothing, moisturising and softening.
- Aniseed Myrtle/Anisata – native to Australian east coast sub-tropical rainforests. The leaves have antibacterial and antifungal properties, and are used as an antiseptic.
- Argan Oil (organic) – often called Morocco’s ‘liquid gold’. Exceptionally rich in natural vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which have a protective and softening effect on the skin.
- Bergamot Orange Oil – antiseptic essential oil, with an uplifting, sweet fruity aroma.
- Betaine Salicylate – hydroxy acid derivative with exfoliating and skin conditioning qualities.
- Bush Mint – cooling and stimulating, with antifungal and antibacterial properties. The leaves are crushed and used by Indigenous people in ointments and infusions to treat sores, headaches and colds.
- Cucumber (organic) – soothing and anti-inflammatory. Reduces puffiness and swelling.
- Cypress Oil – astringent and antiseptic essential oil, with a refreshing woody scent.

- Mountain Pepper – native to woodland areas in southeast Australia. The leaves and berries have antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, and are used by locals to treat aches and pains.

How should I look when I come to the salon?
To ensure the best application I would advise you to arrive at the salon wearing no makeup. This is help with colour matching and ensure treatments run on time.
Will I be able to have false lashes?
We stock a wide range of lashes at the salon. If you are wanting the application of lashes please state at the time of booking as an adhesive patch test will be required.
What if I have my own products which I want to be used during my treatment?
If you have a specific eye shadow (example) and I do not hold the matching colour, you can bring it along and I will be happy to incorporate it into the service
